Low Work-Hardening Rate Ensures Greater Spinning Stability
Compared to aluminum alloys containing higher levels of magnesium, manganese, and other alloying elements, 1060 exhibits a slower work-hardening rate during cold working. This allows the material to maintain good plasticity throughout continuous spinning operations, effectively reducing the risk of cracking while improving yield rates and production efficiency.
Ideal Balance Between Strength and Ductility
1060-O temper aluminum typically offers high elongation (generally 25%–40%, depending on temper), combined with sufficient strength to meet cookware application requirements. During high-speed spinning, it effectively reduces common forming defects such as edge wrinkling, uneven earing, and localized excessive thinning. This makes it particularly suitable for large-diameter thin-walled products and deep-profile cookware blanks. For pizza pans specifically, which require higher hardness, the H12–H14 tempers are generally preferred.
